Installation of Sisterlocks

The Process: My consultant started the install of my sisterlocks on Sunday September 5th around 3:00 pm. She finished the next morning. My locitician works out of her home in inner city Detroit. No fancy salon. The process... It was beautiful. Pain free. Relaxing. The connection between my loctician and I was balanced and comfortable.

Costs: How much do sisterlocks costs? Too much, you may be thinking. For the most part I tend to agree. My locks were $750 because of the "length and density" of my hair. I didn't like the price, but felt very comfortable with my loctician so I went for it. She is an older woman of distinction and I was able to meet two of her current customers who have beautiful locs. She suggested that I cut my hair before installation so that the price would lower. No way! Let me tell you right off the bat, you are going to pay a pretty little penny for some sisterlocks, if you want quality and someone with experience under their belt. Is it worth it? That's up to you. For me, it was. I have spent countless dollars on damaging my hair with perms, weaves, braids etc. Why not make an investment in doing something healthy for my hair. Even though they are very expensive, sisterlocks are worth it in the long run.

The Day After: I was surprised at how my locks looked when the process was complete. They were skinny and all over the place. I knew that I would have to adjust, and that it would take some time! To be brutally honest, I did not like them at first and wanted my natural free flowing hair back. I wanted to feel cute, but I didn't.
